SmartBandTM Technology
SmartBandTM service covers all of Europe and North of Africa
SmartBandTM has been developed combining knowledge in data networks, digital communications, satellite access and network control, in order to provide a scalable and affordable product for the home user and small businesses.
SmartBandTM receives a broadband DVB outbound channel of 60 Mbps and provides a return channel with speeds up to 384 Kbps. The F-TDMA return channel provides “broadband on request” and has a DVB-RCS encoder to optimize the performance.
SmartBandTM supports routing backup, IP multicasting, IP QoS and TCP Spoofing through 10 Mbps of unicast traffic. SmartBand TMNMS provides traffic statistics and connection details, and offers SNMP interface.
This equipment is comprised of a Satellite gateway (IDU - Indoor Unit) and a special satellite antenna with a transmitter and a LNB receiver (ODU - Outdoor Unit). The Linkstar router allows the connection of up to 15 PCs and permits the configuration of virtual Private Networks including 15 fixed private IPs (Only valid for SmartBand TMPremium services).

The IDU is linked to the PC by a RJ45 cable and to the ODU by two coaxial cables. The antenna is installed outside and oriented to the Hispasat Satellite at 30º west.

| The SmartBand hardware is also available for renting with a monthly cost of 52€. (with0,96 m antenna) or 68 € (with 1,20 m ntenna).
